FAQs

What is a Sigil?

A sigil is a word or phrase turned into a symbol that gives power to your intent.

Phrase your intent as a command, eliminate any repeating letters, and play around, following your instincts until you've created a symbol from the remaining characters.

All of my designs are original, custom creations from my sigil library.

I don’t consider myself ‘witchy.’ Can I still get a sigil?

A sigil is as much an artwork as a form of witchcraft. You do not have to be a witch, magical practitioner, or profoundly spiritual person to use or appreciate a sigil - it is all about energy and connection. You can use a sigil in many ways, and a painting serves as a daily reminder of your goal. If you are drawn to the message or aesthetic of a sigil, that is all that matters.

What do I do with a sigil?

You don’t have to do anything. If you want a sigil for “bravery,” then having a magnet or keychain or mini canvas that you can look at every day to help center yourself is all you need.

If you want to delve deeper and unleash the magic inside the sigil, you can ‘activate’ it by drawing the form yourself. Trace it on your skin with your finger, draw it in the dirt or sand, pencil it on your doorframe, mark it with henna, sketch it on paper, incorporate the symbol into a meditation practice - insert your energy into the sigil to get something back.

What does macmab mean?

MAC is my legal initials, and MAB is my initials using my mother’s maiden name. MAC also happens to be the initials of myself (Meredith) and my two best friends, Alanna and Caitlin. MAB can also be a little nod to Queen Mab of the Fairies. Call me Meredith or macmab; either is fine!

Do you accept returns?

I do not accept returns or exchanges, but please let me know if you need help with your order. Please note: a piece of live edge on a wood slice falling off before, during, or after transit does not constitute damage.
